Please join me in congratulating Tammy Conway, department chair in the Dental Hygiene Department. She has earned her Leadership Development Certificate from the Center for Effective Teaching.
Tammy Conway is an associate professor in the dental hygiene program at Hudson Valley Community College. Since joining the faculty in 1996, Tammy’s primary responsibility is to provide opportunities for dental hygiene students to competently apply dental hygiene theory to clinical application. She also continues to create and lead retention and persistence programs to facilitate student success. Recently, she developed a recruitment endeavor to provide interactive, on-campus workshops for local high school seniors who wish to learn about the field of dental hygiene.
She has extensive clinical practice in periodontics and general dentistry. Areas of special interest include non-surgical periodontal therapy, and developing continuing education courses specialized in instrument design. Tammy’s service is not limited to her students or her department, but she also diligently serves the college community and the community at large in extracurricular and volunteer capacities.
Tammy is a graduate of the dental hygiene program at Hudson Valley Community College. She earned her B.S. degree in Community Health at William Patterson College in New Jersey, and her degree in Educational Administration and Policy Studies at the SUNY Albany.
